Abstract

. Household food security indicators are known
from food consumption and nutritional status. Food consumption is calculated
using the household income approach. This study was conducted in Pundungsari
Village of the District Semin. The purpose of this study was to determine the
household income and expenditure, the level of household consumption and
household food security. The location is determined using the purposive sampling
method, which is to choose solidarity based on regional characteristics such as
natural resources, economy and access to food. Selected hamlets were Padukuhan
Sedono and Padukuhan Jelok. The samples used were 90 household with 58 each
in Padukuhan Sedono was Rp. 5.974.220 and Rp. 922.293 in Padukuhan Jelok.
Household expenditure in Padukuhan Sedono is 81,09% of food expenditure and
18,91%of non-food expenditure and in Padukuhan Jelok is 60,08% of food
expenditure and 39,82% of non-food expenditure. Per-capita energy consumtion in
Padukuhan Sedono 1996,11 kcal and in Padukuhan Jelok 1488,85 kcal. The level
of household food security in Padukuhan Sedono as much as 29,31% of household
in the category of food secure, 31,03% vulnerable food, 24,14% less food, and
15,52% prone food. The level of household food security in Padukuhan Jelok as
mush as 12,05% of household in the food secure category, 9,28% vlnerable food,
34.38% less food, and 43,75% prone food.
