Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of field
agricultural instructors in the development of watermelon cultivation and
determine the factors that influence the role of field agricultural instructors in the
development of watermelon cultivation. The location of the study was determined
purposively and the number of respondents was determined by proportional
random sampling at Gapoktan Tani Manunggal. The number of respondents from
the Karya Usaha farmer group was 25 farmers, Sido Makmur 23 farmers, Sumber
Rejeki 19 farmers, and Setio Tani 28 farmers. Secondary data were obtained from
the Grobogan District Agriculture Office, Grobogan BPS, and Central Java BPS.
The role of field agricultural extension workers in watermelon development in
Wolo Village, which consists of the role of PPL as a technical guide, the role of
PPL as a motivator and the role of PPL as an analyzer are included in the "role"
category. The communication skill factor correlates with the role of PPL as a
technical guide and the role of PPL as a motivator. The technical skill factor
correlates with the role of PPL as an analyzer. The cosmopolitan level factor
correlates with the role of PPL as a technical guide and the role of PPL as a
motivator.
