Abstract

The research is aimed at designing the accounting information system implemented using the microsoft software package, namely the Microsoft Visual Foxpro 0.8. The software was implemented in UD. Telupha Computer Yogyakarta where the accounting system was still used The choice of Telupha Computer Yogyakarta was based on the judgmental sampling method. After being implemented, the system proved to have higher speed in processing the data and had lower error level compared to the process done by humans. It also had more database saving capacity. The accounting information system is designed to record the selling transaction, buying transaction and others. The records of the events were recorded cronologically in the general journal. The process of recording all transactions were done by staff in the selling devision, buying devision and the accounting one. The information obtained ftom the accounting information system comprised reports of goods, suppliers, customers, bank account, buying, buying returned purchased good, selling, selling returned purchased goods, journal, ledger, loss and profit, equity change, and balance sheet needed by UD. Telupha Computer Yogyakarta. The process could be done timely and the calculation of the early balance cound be done automatically.
