Abstract

Background: One concept in the themy ofFive Star Domor is to be a community leader. shows as a doctor is important w have leadership skilis. The ahiliry to lead can be honed en college by becoming the leader of the college organization. But by becoming a leader, the student must also be balanced in managing academic affaits which is to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) remains good. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of student leadership in organizations with academic achievement. Methods: This research u•ed an analytic observationa1 method with cross sectional study. h used a modffied Senant Leadership Questionnaire (SLQ) questionnaire,s. The study involved 64 studenls of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta as the re,spondents. Dropout oc•urs because the respondents could not be reached when the research took place so that it became 57 raspondents who were divided into 29 sntdents who had been the leader and 28 studems wlto had newr been a leader. Data analysis was petformed using the Chi Square test. Results: Data processing results show the wilue of Asymp.Sig (2-sided) is 0.637 means that p> 0.05 it can be concluded that HO is accepted. whlch means "student 1eadership in the organization is not reiated to academic achievement" The study also shows that the majority of respondents have GPA at moderate levels that range from 2.51 to 3.50, and the majority of students in the leader group disp1ayed strongly behavior of assisting followers to grow and succeed in the styk of servant leadership. Conclusion: There is no relationship bentwen student 1eadership to academic achievement in students of the Faculty of Medicine and HeaftkftjtirsE Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
