PERAN HUGO CHAVEZ DALAM PEMBENTUKAN LA ALIANZA BOLIVARIANA PARA LOS PUEBLOS DE NUSTRA AMERICA (ALBA) DI AMERIKA LATIN

*183 Venezuela is one of the countries in the world which is blessed with the abundant natural resources, especially oil. Venenzuela’s natural richness should be a good precondition to support welfare of its 24 million population country. Nevertheless, until the end of 1990-s, Venezuela remained characteristized by highest inequality in economy, more or less, it is because of the implementation of neoliberal ideology which in favor of the US-based MNCs.
To fight and eliminate the hegemony of the neo-liberalism, Hugo Chavez promoted a concept of regional integration name ALBA.
This research found that Hugo Chavez has contributed a lot to establishment of ALBA. Comfortable with its domestic achievement implementing socialism principles, Chavez initiated to expand its sphere of influence throughout Latin America. This research has aslo prove that Chavez held the important roles in ALBA : initiator, leader, as well as the organizer of ALBA since its foundation.
