Abstract

Latar Belakang : Alkohol mengandung etanol yang memiliki efek toksik pada hepar. Kerusakan hepar dapat dikurangi dengan antioksidan. Ekstrak rambut jagung (ZME) mengandung flavonoid dan fitokimia yang memiliki efek hepatoprotektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efek ZME terhadap gambaran histopatologi hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang diinduksi alkohol.
Metode : Penelitian eksperimen murni dengan post-test only control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan yang dibagi menjadi 8 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol (C), kelompok yang diinduksi alkohol 1 ml/hari (P), ZME dengan dosis 50 mg/KgBB, 100 mg/KgBB, 150 mg/KgBB (J1, J2, J3), serta kelompok yang diinduksi alkohol 1 ml/hari dan diberi ZME dengan dosis 50 mg/KgBB, 100 mg/KgBB, 150 mg/KgBB (PJ1, PJ2, PJ3). Kerusakan histopatologi hepar dinilai berdasarkan skoring Manja Roenigk.
Hasil : Paparan ZME memiliki efek positif untuk menurunkan skor kerusakan histopatologi hepar pada kelompok J1, J3, J2, PJ1, dan PJ2. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tidak adanya perbedaan signifikan dengan kelompok C. Kelompok PJ3 memiliki skor kerusakan histopatologi hepar mendekati kelompok P yang memiliki perbedaan signifikan dengan kelompok C.
Kesimpulan : Pemberian ZME memiliki efek positif untuk menurunkan kerusakan histopatologi hepar tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan yang diinduksi alkohol.
