Abstract

Indonesia has labor problems. Thus, the solution from the Indonesian government is to send Indonesian Female Migrant Workers in the informal sector to Saudi Arabia. However, sending Indonesian Female Migrant Workers in the informal sector raises various problems. Thus, the Indonesian government and the Saudi Arabian government are making efforts to protect Indonesian Female Migrant Workers in the informal sector through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). However, after the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the Moratorium was implemented in 2015 under Joko Widodo's era. The purpose of this study was to investigate the implications of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Moratorium on Indonesian Migrant Workers to Saudi Arabia. This is a qualitative descriptive research using secondary data from libraries, journals, books, articles, electronic media, and websites. This study found that the Indonesian government's policy of the Moratorium on sending Indonesian Female Migrant Workers was driven by the failure to implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in providing protection for Indonesian Female Migrant Workers in the informal sector
