Abstract
This research is a research on supportive communication between administrators and members of the Hamur community in Yogyakarta. The importance of this research is because parents who are divorced, there are still many who do not realize that conflicts like this cause children to experience trauma. The theory used in this study as material for data analysis is the theory of categories of defensive and supportive behavior. This research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive type, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews (Indepth Interview), informant collection techniques using purposive sampling techniques, validity testing using data source triangulation, and data analysis techniques that go through several stages, namely data collection. , data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research from beginning to end, it shows that supportive communication messages for broken home children in overcoming chronic trauma are the first, don't hate your parents too much because, all parents love their children, only the delivery of love for each parent is different, don't be too blame yourself for the divorce that has occurred, don't be too late in sadness, look for busyness by participating in positive activities, don't always feel like a useless child, don't make decisions in a hurry, don't feel ashamed and feel inferior with your condition. a broken home family, and the last one is not to feel too alone and feel no one cares.
