Abstract

The purpose of this study is to classify the form and meaning of onomatopoeia. Based on Miharu Akimoto's theory, onomatopoeic forms are classified into eight categories and onomatopoeic meanings are classified into ten categories. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data will be taken by listening to the object under study and then entering the data into the classification table for further analysis. The results of this study are from 137 data obtained in the form of onomatopoeia with details of the details of gokon totaled 18 data, oto wo tsumeru totaled 31 data, oto wo haneru totaled 16 data, chouonka suru totaling 26 data, "ri" wo tsukeru totaled 3 data, hanpuku amounting to 18 data, oto no ichibu koutai totaled to 3 data and dakuon no tai totaled 6 data. While the meaning of the onomatopoeic meaning categorized by shinzengenshou category is 5 data, hito no koe is 17 data, hito no dousa is 29 data, hito no yousu is 5 data, hito no kenkou joutai is 2 data, mono ga dasu oto is 20 data, mono no ugoki is 17 data and mono no youtai totaling 2 data.
