Abstract

Introduction : Stroke is a non-communicable disease which is classified as a neurovascular disease. Stroke is the second leading cause of death and the third leading cause of disability in the world. If stroke treatment efforts do not go well and routinely will cause the risk of recurrent stroke. Efforts to prevent recurrent stroke can be carried out using a mobile health application to improve medication adherence in stroke patients. Aim : The purpose of this literature review is to examine journals that explain the effectiveness of mobile health applications to improve medication adherence in stroke patients and prevent recurrent strokes. Inclusion criteria : This review will consider research using experimental methodology using mobile health applications published from 2016-2021, in Indonesian and English. Respondents in the research journal were patients with hemorrhagic and non-hemorrhagic stroke. Intervention using a mobile application or smartphone. In the article there are types of features of the mobile health application. Methods: The databases used in this review are research published in Google Scholar, Pubmed, EBSCOHost and Proquest. Critical research in research that meets the inclusion criteria will be carried out by the authors and supervisors using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. A summary of the selected studies will be presented in the table. Results: A total of 4 articles reviewed by researchers, the majority of the four articles reviewed prove that the use of mobile health applications can improve medication adherence in stroke patients.
