Abstract

Holistic Health Care is a healing effort for patients that covers all aspects, namely physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects. Mustadh'afin is a person who is weak, oppressed, and discriminated against by people with power. This study aims to describe the forms, influencing factors, and benefits of implementing holistic services for mustadh'afin patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta. The field research used the qualitative method. The subjects in this study consisted of seven people, namely three officers of Bina Rohani Islam (Islamic Spiritual Development), one supervisor of Bina Sosial dan Extramural (Social and Extramural Development), one nurse, and two mustadh'afin patients. The data were analyzed by employing data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the form of holistic service for mustadh'afin patients is conducted by taking into account the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects. Services on the physical aspect are conducted by prioritizing patient safety and the application of Islamic values when conducting medical procedures, services on the psychological aspect are conducted by visitation and psychological assistance, services on the spiritual aspect are conducted with spiritual compensation, and services on the social aspect are conducted by providing relief up to waiver of medical expenses. Factors that influence the provision of holistic services to mustadh'afin patients are the vision and mission of the hospital and AUMKES. The implementation of holistic services provides benefits for mustadh'afin patients to get medical treatment, helps patients become calmer, can conduct religious consultations, and ease the patient's financial burden by reducing medical costs. The implementation of holistic services is not only aimed at obtaining material but is also a forum for conducting amar ma'ruf nahi munkar (enjoining right and forbidding wrong).
