Abstract

Poverty, as one of the social issues that Indonesia is experiencing, is supposed to
be solved by optimizing the funds of Zakat, Infaq, Alms, and Waqf. The social
institution should have contributed more to optimize those aforementioned social
funds. The optimization of social funds can also contribute to achieving Sustainable
Development Goals. This research aims to analyze the role and the
accomplishments of Baitul Maal Indonesia (BMT BIF) in realizing a Sustainable
Development Goals such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well
Being, and Quality Education. The method used in this research was qualitative
with the type of field research whose data were taken directly from the field through
interviews with some respondents which included the manager of Baitul Maal
Indonesia, the caregiver of Al-Amin orphanage, and the expert of Sustainable
Development Goals. To ensure the validity of the data, the researchers used
triangulation resources. Whilst the analysis technique used in the research was
Miles and Huberman's research method. The result of the research showed that
social funds distributed by Baitul Maal Indonesia have a significant contribution to
the orphanage’s children and musryf. The collected ZISWAF funds are distributed
annually for Al-Amin orphanage’s operational cost. Moreover, they also contribute
to realize the Sustainable Development Goals such as No Poverty, Zero Hunger,
Good Health and Well Being, and Quality Education.
