Abstract

The study of fonts is not only the expression of letter expressions, but various things related to readability and appearance. The issue of font selection is especially important due to the lack of references for the right font types for mobile learning. Because many of the writers attach importance to their readers to be comfortable and more relaxed when reading their writing. Research of this font is needed in this era because if the font size on a mobile phone is too large or too small the font size becomes uncomfortable. The font type itself provides comfort. Thus, researchers took the title Optimal Size and Typeface For Mobile Learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the types of fonts that are felt comfortable, fit, and clear for text in mobile learning. The methodology in this research is to use data collection method by survey method. From research on fonts that include Garamond, Gill Sans, Cambria, Kalibri, Constantia, Lato, and Georgia with sizes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, and 28 with short to long sentences, it can be concluded that the test results show Georgia fonts are preferred for small and medium sizes with sizes 10 – 22. Meanwhile, for larger font sizes use Garamond with a size of 26.
