Abstract
Background : COVID-19 is an infectious disease accompanied by a severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by the newly discovered corona virus, namely SARSCoV-2. Covid-19 cases, which continue to increase every day in Indonesia, require health workers to improve their performance, especially nurses and midwives who often have direct contact with patients. A heavier workload increases the risk of depression, anxiety, and stress. This study aims to describe the level of depression, anxiety, and stress of nurses and midwives in health services in the Covid-19 era. Method : This study used a quantitative approach using a descriptive observational design: survey method. Researchers implemented this application by distributing links to Google Forms to health workers in Indonesia. In this study, the contents of the Google form included informed consent, respondent demographic data, and the DASS 42 survey form. Result : The level of depression experienced by nurses was 37 (11.41%) respondents, and midwives were 15 (6.02%) respondents. The level of anxiety experienced by nurses was 84 (25.92%) respondents, and midwives were 45 (18.07%) respondents. The level of stress experienced by nurses was 39 (12.03%) respondents, and midwives were 14 (5.62%) respondents. Conclusion : The majority of nurses and midwives in Indonesia have good depression, anxiety and stress management. Nurses and midwives are expected to be able to maintain this management in order to avoid depression, anxiety and stress so that they can perform health services properly.
