Abstract

This research is the result of qualitative research entitled "The Role of Women in the Family Economy: A Case Study of Street Vendors (PKL) in Malioboro Yogyakarta". This study aims to determine the role of women in the family economy. This research uses descriptive statistical analysis method. In this study the data were obtained from observations (observations), interviews, and questionnaires to respondents with special criteria determined by the researcher. Then the data obtained is processed using the SPSS 21.0 for windows application. From this research, it is found that a woman's income from work can really help support the family economy. Therefore, the importance of protecting women in the world of work and the role of the government for policies on equal responsibilities between men and women.
