Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out and analyze the students’ moral in SMP Muhammadiyah Imogiri and to find out and analyze the students’ perception on teachers’ exemplary in developing students’ moral in SMP Muhammadiyah Imogiri. This research used qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the research were 16 students, 1 headmaster, 2 counseling teachers, and 5 teachers on particular subjects. The data collection techniques used interview and documentation while the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making by collecting the data found based on the existing facts. The research results show that the students in SMP Muhammadiyah Imogiri are categorized in having good moral or behavior when they are in schools particularly their attitude toward the teachers. However, there are students having poor behavior conducting some fatal actions. Meanwhile, related to students' perceptions of the exemplary teacher, the teachers at school have shown good role models, by showing the appropriate attitudes with religious, legal, and social norms, then having noble character, having a good work ethic, and behaving in accordance with the teacher's code of ethics
