Abstract

The objective of the research is to describe the acculturation of Islamic and local culture and the factors hampering and supporting the emergence of the acculturation of Islamic and local culture in Cultural Event of Ogoh-ogoh in Brakas Village, Raas Sub- District, Sumenep Regency. This research used descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques of observation, interview, analysis, and documentation. Meanwhile, the research result was the openness of Brakas Village Society towards new Culture brought by Raas Island society and especially the society of Brakas Village keeping the values of old culture as the process of Acculturation in order to maintain the local culture in a cultural event of Ogohogoh
