BANTUAN LUAR NEGERI TURKI DI SUDAN MELALUI BADAN KERJASAMA DAN KOORDINASI TURKI (TÜRK İŞBİRLİĞİ VE KOORDİNASYON AJANSI, TİKA)

This paper aims to see the reason why Turkey still provides foreign
assistance to Sudan. Foreign Assistance became one of Turkey’s tool to show its
presence as an Islamic country which is concern on the problem that happened in
Sudan. Turkey’s Cooperation and Coordination Agency is used to realize Turkey’s
“Pro-active” foreign policy orientation. The results showed that there is a
connection between humanitarian motive and identity motive that influence
Turkey’s involvement in providing foreign assistance to Sudan. Humanitarian
motives based on indicators of poverty alleviation and the environment. Meanwhile
the identity motive is presented by Turkey as a Muslim country that still adheres to
Islamic principle.
