Abstract

This research aims to explain how Indonesia's strategy is to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Thailand in the cultural and tourism sector, especially during the reign of President Joko Widodo - Jusuf Kalla. This research was conducted by conducting literature studies from various data sources such as journals, websites, and news news sites. The results of this study indicate that there are various programs carried out in collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand in the cultural and tourism sector, including: 1) Buddhism Traveling; 2) Cruise and Yacht; and 3) Bali-Phuket Travel Package. The main reason that encourages the Indonesian state to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Thailand is because Thailand is a leader in the tourism industry in Southeast Asia and is also considered a country that has succeeded in developing the culture and tourism sector as a waiting sector that supports the economy in Thailand with a contribution of 6, 7% of the total economy of Thailand. The three programs have proven to be able to attract foreign tourists to visit Indonesia and Thailand, which are recorded to have increased constantly from year to year.
