Abstract

The thesis discusses the policy of developing halal tourism in Gunungkidul Regency. This research was conducted to analyze policies in the development of halal tourism in Gunungkidul Regency. This research uses normative and empirical research types which are carried out by examining library materials with several approaches, namely the statutory approach, the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) fatwa approach, and interviews. This research was conducted directly by the Department of Culture and Tourism to obtain data and information in the field by conducting interviews based on the interview guidelines that had been prepared. The results of this study indicate that the policy of implementing halal tourism in Gunungkidul upholds Islamic values and local wisdom, by empowering the community through halal tourism including strengthening community awareness, increasing the capacity and role of the community in business management, and increasing community income based on the Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism which explains the meaning of tourism, Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Guarantees for Halal Products talks about what products can be labeled halal, the requirements, and also the mechanism and the last is the DSN MUI fatwa Number 108/DSN-MUI/X/2016 concerning Guidelines for Organizing Tourism Based on Sharia Principles
