Abstract

The number of applications for early marriage dispensation in Tegal Regency increases in 2020 along with the increasing number of divorce suits, so that Marriage Guidance has an important role in minimizing this. The purpose of this study are: (1) to determine the factors causing early age marriage in Adiwerna District, (2) to explain the marriage guidance process at KUA (local religious affairs offices) Adiwerna District, and (3) to explain the effectiveness of marriage guidance for early marriage couples in Adiwerna District. This research used qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The theory used in this study was SOR (Stimulus-Organism-Response) to determine the effectiveness of marriage guidance. The results of this study of marriage guidance for early marriage couples at KUA Adiwerna can be said to be effective because the counselee can deliver the material well so that participants pay attention and there is a good response from the participants, namely applying the knowledge obtained to the family. The factors that cause early marriage in Adiwerna District are the majority of married by accident, matchmaking done by parents, and personal willingness. The process of marriage guidance for early marriage couples, in terms of delivery, is adjustable so that it is easily understood by their age with the method of lectures, discussions, and questions and answers as well as the response of early marriage couples.
