Abstract

Home garden land use to be in an optimum from data the area under cultivation that productive in kulon progo 55,6% and the lowest in Sentolo District 35,4 % of the total size. sub district The village demangrejo having broad than the percentage of the grounds of the total of villagers is 76,47 %. This study attempts to find out the potential for home garden as produce food in the village Demangrejo.This study began in the month in february until may in the village Femangrejo, Sentolo district, kulon progo Regency. The methodology used is. survey94 respondents of the total 940 head of family or population ( 10 % of the population ) and selection of respondent with non-probality. sampling methods. The collection of data was undertaken by interviewing or give kuisoner and the results in an analysis by the method descriptive. Based on analysis, descriptive that a yard in the village demangrejo has potential in terms of physical or, land , economic and socially of on home garden. There were some concepts that was used in structuring the home garden, they were plants/animals intensivication, plants/animals maintenance and integrated farming.The utilization of home garden was different in each categorize, it depends on kind of plant, farm, fish and wide of home garden. For the future is hope to advice to the government and the village as meeting the needs of food program community , through of home garden.
