Abstract

Female Labor is a woman or mother working overseas within a certain time. For a mother, they are willing to leave her family to help her husband earn a living for his daily life. However, as a result of leaving his family to work as a migrant worker, the role of a mother to educate her children is not effective. Nevertheless, a mother still must pay attention to childs religion through long-distance communication either through telephone or social media, one of them WhatsApp, so that later when an adult, child become a child that boast both parents. This research purposed to know the religiosity of children of ‘TKW family in Banaran Village, Grabag Subdistrict, Magelang Regency and to know the utilization of social media WhatsApp in instilling the value of religiosity in the children of ‘TKW in Banaran Village, Grabag Subdistrict, Magelang Regency. To achieve the above objectives, a qualitative research approach with descriptive qualitative research was conducted during one month of research. The key instrument was the researcher himself and the data collection techniques used are observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed by exposing data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicated that (1) the children of the TKW family in Banaran Village, Grabag Subdistrict, Magelang Regency have good religious values as well as the Divine value of Ubudiyah and the Divine values of Muamalah. (2) the use of social media (WhatsApp) in instilling religious values in the children of the families of ‘TKW in Banaran village is quite intensive, the occurrence of mutual communication between them. They take advantage of features on WhatsApp like video calls, WhatsApp phones, and chats.
