Abstract

The primary aim of this research is to analyze the handling of womens human rights violations in Pakistan that commonly knowned as honour killing after ratifying CEDAW Convention. This research is analyzed by using weak states theory and partriachal concepts. This research argues that the phenomenon of honour killing in Pakistan is a case of human rights violations, especially against women, that occured because there are the weaknesses of the institutional capacity of the Government Pakistan to make and implement a policy in their country whether it guarantees the rights of its citizens. This has a close relationship with the existence of a partriachal culture where women are considered as the second class after men and inferior position in family structures. While the role of men is seen as more powerful than women.
