Abstract

This paper describes privatization in Indonesia from the era of President Soeharto, Habibie, Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati Soekarno Putri to the government of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. In addition, privatization is part of neoliberalism, namely the economic policy program from the agreement made by the IMF and World Bank to save the economy of a country and become a condition of assistance from the IMF to a country experiencing a crisis, privatization in Indonesia is closely related to political economic intervention The IMF because Indonesia came to this international organization when the crisis hit Indonesia. The most privatized BUMN was carried out by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on the grounds to strengthen the economy and accelerate debt payments to the IMF, supported by people in the Sby cabinet who relied on privatization. The theoretical framework of this paper uses the theory of neoliberalism.
