Abstract

This study
aims to determine the costs incurred in farming salak gading and salak pondoh in Donokarto,
Turi sub-district, Sleman district and find out the benefits received in farming salak gading
and salak pondoh in Donokarto, Turi sub-district, Sleman district. This study uses descriptive
and quantitative methods by determining the location by purposive sampling method or
intentionally and sampling is done by simple random sampling method so that there are 18
respondents. The data were collected through interviews and then analyzed descriptively and
using the T test. The results showed that: 1) The average cost incurred by salak gading farmers
for one year or two harvest seasons was Rp. 5,477,538 with revenues of Rp. 19,200,000. so
that the income of salak gading farmers is Rp. 16,426,222 and the profit received by salak
gading farmers is Rp. 13,722,462. Meanwhile, the average cost incurred by salak pondoh
farmers for 1 year or 2 harvest seasons is Rp 5,759,189 with an income of Rp 8,778,000 so
that an income of Rp 5,901,872 is obtained and the profit received by farmers is Rp 3,018. 811.
2) Based on the t test results, it was found that the cost t test results had a significant value of
0.797 and this significant value was greater than 0.005. So it can be interpreted that there is
no difference in costs between salak gading and salak pondoh farmers. Meanwhile, the results
of the t-test have a significant value of 0.000 and a significantly smaller value than 0.005. And
it can be interpreted that there is a difference in profits between salak gading farming and
salak pondoh.
