Abstract

Ferrisia virgata is a one of primary pest of cassava. This study aimed to
study the population dynamics of F. virgata in three different locations (Pajegran,
Wonoroto, and Kesidan) in Purworejo Regency. Natural enemies found in each field
were observed and identified. The results showed that the population of F. virgata
is different in each research loaction. The population of F. virgata fluctuated based
on the development of cassava plant age. The population of F. virgata began to be
observed when the plant at the age of 12 weeks old. The highest population occurred
when the plant at the age of 20-22 weeks old in Pejagran. Meanwhile, the highest
investment rate (72%) occurred in Wonoroto. Natural enemies found such as
Coccinella transversalis and Dolichoderus thoracicus.
