Abstract

This research explains the role of UNHCR in the protection of Rohingya
refugees in Indonesia and the obstacles faced in implementing the Rohingya
refugee protection program in Indonesia. Seeing this research, were using the
concept of international organizations to describe the efforts performed by
UNHCR as an international organization in dealing with the problem of
Rohingya refugees in Indonesia. This research proves that in an attempt to
protect Rohingya refugees who have been discriminated against by the
Myanmar government, UNHCR collaborates with the Indonesian
government in dealing with Rohingya refugees in Indonesia through efforts
in the short and long term. The short-term step is to provide protection and
services, while the long-term purpose is to defend the Rohingya refugees in
Indonesia. Efforts made by UNHCR and the Indonesian government ensure
the fulfilment of the rights of Rohingya refugees in Indonesia.
