Abstract

Tobacco is one of the plantation commodities that has a high economic value to be cultivated. Tobacco farming is a farm that has been developed for generations and has great potential to be developed in Pringsewu Hamlet, Giripurno Village with a fairly high production. The purpose of this study was to determine household income from on-farm tobacco, other on-farm income, off-farm income and nonfarm income, and the contribution of tobacco farming income to household income of farmers in Pringsewu Hamlet, Giripurno Village, Ngadirejo District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling method and obtained a sample of 54 farmers. The analytical method used is farm income analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that tobacco on farm income was Rp 21,840,137 per season, chili on farm income was Rp 5.284.436 per season, off farm income was Rp 1,305,556 per season, nonfarm income was Rp 2,509,259 per season. The total household income per season is Rp 30.939.388 and the contribution of tobacco farming income is 70.59%. This shows that the contribution of tobacco farming to the household income of farmers is included in the high category.
