Abstract
The government decided on the urgency of relocating the capital, and quickly carried out the planning process for the relocation of the capital. There are many pro and contra opinions from various groups, both from experts and from government agencies, as well as the wider community. The purpose of this thesis research is to assess the urgency of the plan to relocate the capital city based on the issues raised by the government, to assess the government's actions in carrying out the procedural process from the beginning, and to analyze whether land use is a suitability issue in accordance with the nine principles of the Spatial Planning Law as a measuring tool in assessing procedures. and land suitability in spatial use. This study uses a normative legal research method sourced from primary law, secondary law, and tertiary law, through a qualitative juridical approach. The results of this study indicate that the plan to move the capital city of Indonesia is not urgent, because this is not the answer proposed by the government. Based on the nine principles of the Spatial Planning Law, the procedure is considered inappropriate, because the overall results require further adjustments to conform to the 9 principles.
