Abstract

Since the issuance of the Law on Sharia Banking, banks based on Islamic law have developed rapidly, and have won the trust of the public, especially the Indonesian people, whose majority are Muslims. But in reality, these banks are not in accordance with Islamic law which forbids usury as well as conventional banks. Therefore, the implementation of the contract in the process of muamalah against the practice of Islamic banking. The object of this research is Bank BPD DIY Sharia Branch. Data were collected through documentation, interviews, and literature studies, which were then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method using primary and secondary data types. The results of this study indicate that the wadiah contract on the SIMPEDA savings product has been implemented according to sharia as evidenced by the existence of Muwaddi, Wadi'i, Wadi'ah, and shigot.
