Abstract

Ultrasonic Cleaner is a kind of tool designed to clean medical equipment, laboratory
equipment, and some optical equipment by using ultrasonic waves generated from vibrations
which comes out through ultrasonic transducers to break up adhering particles such as blood
spots or body fluids that have been dried before being sterilized in the autoclave. In the
sterilization process using an Ultrasonic Cleaner with post-surgical material, a frequency of
40Khz is needed to be able to clean instruments made of iron such as surgical instruments.
Then to shorten the sterilization process, a heater is needed which will easily dissolve the
cleaning fluid so that it can melt in all directions on the surgical instrument being cleaned at
a temperature of 50℃ and can speed up the cleaning process as well as an automatic water
disposal system to avoid direct contact between medical personnel and medical equipment due
to viruses or bacteria may stick to the equipment after surgery. So the authors conducted
research on making an Ultrasonic Cleaner with an automatic water drain system equipped
with a heater. Tool testing is done by testing the function of all buttons and displays, testing
the timer with a stopwatch, testing the temperature with a thermometer, and testing the
automatic water drainage system. Based on the test data, all buttons and displays as well as
the automatic drainage system work and could be used properly. The percentage reduction in
germ numbers has a result of 99.52% which indicates that the TA module is suitable for
cleaning surgical instruments. There are some results from the timer testing with an error
average, First, the results of the 5 minute timer test have an average error of 0.08%. Second,
the results of the 10 minute timer test have an average error of 0.1%. Third, the results of the
15 minute timer test have an average error of 0.04%. Last, the results of the 20 minute timer
test have an average error of 0.03%. Meanwhile, the results of the temperature test when
Cleaner On has an average error of 5.3%.
