Abstract

Distribution and exhibition are important aspects in order to reach every audience. This
study examines the distribution model and exhibition of the film Nyanyian Akar Rumput by
Yuda Kurniawan.
This study uses the theoretical framework of distribution and exhibition management
in films. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Sources
of data come from interviews and documentation.
The results showed that on the sidestream route, Nyanyian Akar Rumput Film took part
in the festival, and conducted roadshows and film screenings. Festivals that are participated in
at national and international levels that use the filmfreeway.com website to register the film.
Meanwhile, roadshows and screenings are carried out in collaboration with communities and
campuses related to film themes such as human rights organizations, film communities and so
on. In the mainstream channel, Nyanyian Akar Rumput Film submitted a proposal to offer film
screenings to cinemas. Several stages were carried out before submitting a proposal to the
cinema, including registering the film to the Film Center and conducting a graduation test for
film censorship to the LSF (Film Censorship Institute). Meanwhile, regarding the promotion
and publication of Rekam Docs in collaboration with IKOHI and Amnesty International
Indonesia in conducting press conferences and making film posters. Rekam Docs also uses
social media Instagram as a promotional medium
