Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristic of the rice cultivation land in the districts of Anak Tuha, district of Central Lampung and to evaluate the suitability of rice cultivation land(Oryza sativa L.). This study was conducted in the districts of Anak Tuha, district of CentralLampung and the laboratory of UNS (Universitas Negeri Surakarta) on May – July of 2017. This research used location survey and research location with Stratified Random Sampling, based on rice cultivation area. Observation parameters observed temperature, water availability, rooting medium, nutrient retention, available nutrients, erosion hazard, flood hazard, and land preparation. The finding is showing that the land in the districts of Anak Tuha is a land with clay dusty texture to clay dust clay, having an impeded drainage, effective deep depth, non flood-prone areas, having high cation exchange capacity, basic saturation (KB) low, neutral pH, high organic C, low to moderate total N, moderate to high P, and moderate to high K. Actual land suitability in the districts of Anak Tuha is S3nr-2 in the Bumiaji Village, Tanjung Harapan Village and Aji Tua Village are S3nr-2 and na-1. The potential actual land from the three villages in the districts of Anak Tuha is S2tc-1 for Tanjung Harapan Village with a temperature limiting factor of the Bumiaji Village and Negara Aji Tua Village are S2tc-1 and S2rc-3with a limiting factor of temperature and texture.
