Abstract

The study, entitled "Mortality Test Formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis with LOF and Merapi Volcanic Dust and Frequency Spraying Against Armyworm (Spodoptera sp.) In the mustard plant (Brassica juncea L.)" aims to (1) determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer formulations (LOF) and Merapi volcanic ash (MVA) and the frequency of administration of the effectiveness of Bacillus thuringiensis on Spodoptera sp., (2) know the mustard plant growth response to frequency and formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis with LOF and MVA.

This experimental research are arranged in completely randomized design (CRD) with a single factor experimental design consisted of 12 treatments, with formulation B. thuringiensis on the MVA and LOF plus brown sugar 0.2% (w/v), Urea 0.3% (w/v), coconut water 15% (v/w), adhesives pesticides 0.1% (v/w), 24 and 48 hours of fermentation, the frequency of spray 1 and 2 times. So there are 12 of each treatment was repeated 3 times + 1 time backup, so in total there are 48 pots. The parameters observed were: mortality, the death speed, level of crop damage, crop growth, which include: plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, root length, root fresh weight, plant fresh weight, dry weight of plants.

The results showed Bacillus thuringiensis formulations by LOF and MVA effectively used as a control caterpillar Spodoptera sp., It is evidenced by the results of analysis of variance on the observation that the mortality rate of mortality and no significant difference when compared to the control treatment. Frequency and number of formulations of Bacillus thuringiensis with LOF and do not respond negatively to the MVA mustard plant growth, it is evidenced by no significant difference in all variables of each treatment plant growth, and the absence of signs of negative effects such as spots on the leaves of plants.
