Abstract
Most of the parents assumed that deciduous teeth are not very important
because it will be replaced by permanent teeth afterward. However,that such
assumption can affecting parents to be less care about their children's teeth and
mouth hygiene. Thereafter, it will give an impact in increasing number of untreated
tooth decay which leads to premature extraction of deciduous teeth. This study aims
to determine factor causing decidous tooth extraction in Rumah Sakit Gigi dan
Mulut Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta period January – December 2018.
This research is an observational descriptive study. The subjects in this study used
the trend of patient visits who performed extraction of decidous teeth in RSGM
UMY from January to December 2018. Based on secondary data, the number of
tooth extraction of decidous teeth in January - December 2018 there were 917 visits
and sampling was done using total sampling techniques adjusted to the inclusion
and exclusion criteria. The result of the study showed that out of 917 patients who
undergo decidous tooth extraction in RSGM, caused by mobility tooth were 457
extraction (49,9%), caries were 312 extraction (34%), persistance teeth were 147
extraction (16%), injury tooth were 1 extraction (0,1%).
