Abstract
People generally prepared mangosteen as traditional medicine by brewing or boiling, while apple is by juicing. The effervescent tablet formulation was expected to be a preparation easier to use. This research aims to get effervescent tablet formulation of extracted mangosteen and apple peel that are qualified the requirement of standard effervescent tablet and its physical evaluation. The extraction method in this present research is maceration, using ethanol 70% as the solvent. The process of this effervescent tablet used wet granulation that optimize various formula to get the best formula. The analysis of physical properties of effervescent tablet used theoritical approach. The result showed that the best formula contain the citric acid, tartaric acid, sodium bicarbonate with the ratio 1:2:3. Meanwhile the results of physical evalution were content uniformity (3,050 gram), hardness (6,489 kg/cm2 ), friability (0,05%), solubility rate (1,73 minutes).
