Abstract

The intervention of Russia on Ukraine’s sovereignty by using the number of armed force became a hot issue among the international communities nowadays. The paper aims to analyze the International law perspective regarding on the issue of humanitarian intervention which conducted by Russia in Crimea. In addition, the paper elaborates the correlation between the applicable International law and Crimea’s conflict. It explains the position, situation, and condition which taken by the states in dealing with the issue, such as Russia, Ukraine, and one of Security Council members namely United States of America. It provides the analysis on the issue based on international law perspective. The paper method is normative legal research with qualitative descriptive method. The paper based on international law, particularly the United Nations Charter and Declaration on the Inadmissibility of Intervention in the Domestic Affairs of States and the Protection of Their Independence and Sovereignty. Furthermore, the paper would be linked to the principle of law and another related regulation. The result of paper shows that Russia has clearly violated the sovereignty of Ukraine and its territorial integrity, which is a breach of international law, including Russia’s obligations under the UN Charter, and which is inconsistent with the 1994 Budapest Memorandum and the Helsinki Final Act
