HUBUNGAN KEPATUHAN PENGOBATAN DENGAN KEJADIAN KOMPLIKASI NEUROPATI DIABETES PADA DIABETISI TIPE 2

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hiperglicemia. If not treat well and in a proper way, diabetes mellitus can cause dangerous complications such us diabetic neuropathy. Diabetes melllitus can not be cured but it can be controlled by long-life medication. Medication adherence in treatment of diabetes mellitus is very important because it is able to control blood glucose levels of patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This research is an observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The subjects of this study is patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus with aged more than 40 years old who check in Polyclinic of “Penyakit Dalam” RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Sampling was performed by consecutive sampling and the number of samples obtained 30 samples. The study was conducted using a questionnaire and followed by interview. The results obtained were processed using a computerized system with a fisher’s exact test to determine bivariate analysis. The results is p value = 0,393, which is p value > 0,05, it means that there is no significant correlation between medication adherence with insidence of diabetic neuropathy complication in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
