PENGARUH PENYULUHAN KLASIFIKAL TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN, SIKAP DAN PERILAKU ORANGTUA UNTUK PENCEGAHAN SERANGAN ASMA PADA ANAK

The prevalence of bronchial asthma in developing and developed countries has increased. The increasing in prevalence can not be separated from the more complex and varied of precipitating factors and the other factors that underlie bronchial asthma. The higher the knowledge, attitudes, and practice level of parents on the prevention of asthma attacks is expected to decrease the recurrence of asthma. This research use the design of quasi- experimental pre - post intervention to observe changes in knowledge , attitudes , and practice level of parents in the prevention of bronchial asthma after the promotion. The subjects were 17 parents with asthmatic children who joined a classical promotion at Asri Medical Center ( AMC ). The samples were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria after filling out the questionnaire. The independent variable of this research is the classical promotion while the dependent variable is knowledge, attitudes, and practice level of parents regarding the prevention of asthma attacks in children. All variables were measured by administering the questionnaire. Data analysis is using wilcoxon signed ranks test. This research shows that the classical promotion positively influence parental knowledge with respective p values of 0,015 ( p < 0,01 ) and did not have positive influence on the attitudes of parents with p = 0,435 ( p > 0,01 ) . The promotion is also proved to enhance the practice at follow-up 1 month after promotion with p = 0,019. Evaluation one month after promotion showed that knowledge and attitudes did not change significantly with p-value respectively 0,218 and 0,403.
