Abstract

One type of hot mix asphalt concrete used in road pavement is Base Asphalt Concrete Base (AC-BASE) in wich a mixture of Base Asphalt Concrete (AC-BASE) ia a foundation layer on which lies below the soil surface layer specially formulater for durability and resistance melting. This study attempts to make a variation using rounded stones as an added ingredient in asphalt concrete mixture (laston). This study will examine the parameters of the Marshall test result with asphalt content variation of 4%, 4,5%, 5%, 5,5%, and 6%. Testing method used is the Marshall metod, i.e by making a mixture of 15 test specimens without rounded stones by comparison with the test object 45 variation rounded stones ranging from 10%, 20%, 30% with 3 speciment. Marshall testing is perfored to find the Optimum Asphalt Concrete and obtained VMA, VIM, VFA, stability, flow, adn Marshall Quetient (MQ). Based on the Marshall test standard, this study shows that the obtained value of Optimum Asphalt Content without variation of rounded stones is 5,15%, while the Optimum Asphalt Content in a mixed variation of rounded stones of 10%, 20%, 30% are 5%, 4,95%, and 4,8% respectively.
