Abstract

This thesis will discuss what lay behind Muhammadiyah's expansion in international humanitarian missions.
Muhammadiyah is an Islamic organization based on the Alquran and Sunnah being one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia.
The author will discuss how Muhammadiyah as a faith-based organization that focuses on national issues in Indonesia, especially on issues of welfare, Education and Health finally carry out international humanitarian missions.
Muhammadiyah since entering its second age, has carried out various international humanitarian missions including during the Rohingya conflict, after the Earthquake in Nepal in 2015 and after Haiyan Typhoon in the Philippines in 2013. Ideologically, Muhammadiyah is moving due to Islamic understanding which must be transformed, Theology of Al Maun and the Mandate of Muhammadiyah's 47th 2015 Conference in Makassar on Universal Humanity.
