Abstract
The result of the study showed that (1) The participants of this research showed high proficiency in all components being observed, namely pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and fluency (2) Language learning strategies used by the participants based on cognitive strategies were repeating, formally practicing with sound and writing system, recognizing formula and pattern, practicing naturalistically, using resources for receiving and sending message, translating, and transferring. In addition, besides doing the effort by using the learning strategies, they were two supporting factors influencing the participants effort to improve the speaking ability. First, from the internal support they were motivation and self awareness from the participants themselves, and the external support came from parents and environment.
