Abstract
The purpose of this research is to uncover the characteristics of typical women entrepreneur in Yogyakarta; the motivation needs of woman entrepreneurs; and the factors influencing the motivation needs of women entrepreneur. This research is replication from Indarti&Wulandaru research at 2003. The respondents in this research are women entrepreneur that members of Dinas Perindustrian Perdagangan dan Koperasi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This research uses 23 respondents and the survey approach was conducted to answer such research questions. Concludes that women entrepreneur are motivated by a high motivation for achievement, a moderate motivation for affiliation, a moderate motivation for autonomy, and high motivation for dominance. This research finds the motivation for achievement of women entrepreneur that is most significantly affected by age and education, and the motivation for affiliation that is most significantly affected by education.
