Abstract
Sinusitis is an inflammatory disease that attacks the paranasal sinus cavity which is common
in many people. Therefore, making a sinusitis therapy tool using UV Aid and water steam is to help
sufferers of sinusitis in reducing the mucosa in the sinus cavity and inhibiting bacterial growth by
using two therapeutic methods using warm water steam and UV Aid LED light irradiation. In its
use, the steam therapy method is carried out by inhaling warm steam whose temperature is set on
the instrument and then inhaled for 3-5 minutes by sinusitis sufferers. Meanwhile, UV Aid LED
irradiation was carried out for 4-5 seconds in each nostril. From the results of data collection
obtained, the temperature of the air vapor produced by the tool is in accordance with the
temperature of therapeutic steam for sinusitis, which is around 42-44°C. While the UV Aid LED
light intensity has also reached and according to the light intensity of the UV lamp used for kills
and inhibits bacterial growth in sinusitis, which is about 70 lux.
