Evaluasi Kesesuaian Lahan Untuk Tanaman Tembakau (Nicotiana Tabacum L.) Di Kecamatan Karanggayam Kabupaten Kebumen

The tobacco plant is a commodity that has high economic value for the people of
Karanggayam Regency, but its productivity is still low, so this research is
necessary. The study, entitled "Evaluation of the Land Suitability of Tobacco Plants
in Karanggayam District, Kebumen Regency," aims to determine the
characteristics of the land and determine the level of land suitability for tobacco
plants. This research was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods, and
research data were analyzed using FAO-based matching methods to determine land
characteristics and evaluate the level of land suitability. The results showed that
Karanggayam Regency had a suitable temperature, humidity and rainfall that was
quite suitable, drainage ranging from less suitable to suitable, medium texture
suitable. CEC is included in the moderate category, very low base saturation,
neutral pH, low organic C, low to moderate total N, low available P, very low to
low available K, low erosion hazard, flat slope to slope, no danger of flooding, total
surface rock and low rock outcrops. Karanggayam sub-district has S3 class
compatibility (according to marginal) with limiting factors for oxygen availability,
slope slope, element N, element K, pH, C-organic, and base saturation. It is hoped
that there will be further research on farming analysis after improvement efforts
have been made according to the inhibiting factors.
