Abstract
Bantul Street is a collector road that connects Yogyakarta City and Bantul Regency
which results in increased traffic volume over time. This research is motivated by the high
number of accidents that occur on Jalan Bantul, especially km 6.5 to km 8.5. This study aims
to analyze the volume and capacity of roads, identify the types and number of accidents that
occur on roads, analyze the relationship between the ratio of road capacity volume to vehicle
speed, and analyze the relationship between the ratio of capacity volume to the number of
traffic accidents. The data needed is primary data obtained from the results of field surveys
and secondary data obtained from the Bantul Police. The analysis was carried out to calculate
the volume and capacity of roads using the MKJI 1997 method and regression analysis was
carried out using the Microsoft Office Excel application to determine the relationship between
variables. The results obtained from this study indicate the relationship between the ratio of
volume to capacity and speed has an effect on vehicle speed with an R2 value of 0.9079 and
the equation y = -10.227x + 43.544. The relationship between the ratio of volume to capacity
affects the accident rate. In 2018, the R2 value was 0.64 with the equation y = -131.12x2 +
147.03x - 30.24 and the highest type of accident was front and rear crash (32%). In 2019, the
R2 value was 0.9036 with the equation y = -22.8x2 + 17.328x + 1.7442 and the highest type
of accident was front and rear crash (32%). In general, it can be concluded that the ratio of
volume to capacity has a strong relationship with vehicle speed and the number of accidents
