Abstract
.D.I. Yogyakarta is one of the areas that has a pretty big risk of
earthquake, so many buildings in Yogyakarta has a bigger risk of collapse.
Although, the earthquake that happened was not big it couldn’t promise that the
building could be declared safe, because if a bigger earthquake happens in the
building that has been damaged it can collapse the building. One way to check the
building is uasing Rapid Visual Screening (RVS) Method based on FEMA 154.
Rapid Visual Screening (RVS) is a method for identifying building without using
software. To identify the level of risk of a building you can do Rapid Visual
Screening (RVS) method then the results of the RVS can determine whether the
building is at risk or not if an earthquake happens. Research carried out at
Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Building using Rapid Visual Screening
(RVS) method. The result of the analysis showed the value 1.1, where the
recommended score is >2 so the building can be declared not vulnerable to
collapse if an earthquake happens in the building's location. So it can be
concluded that The “D” Building or Perpustakaan Universitas Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta is vurnerable to collapse if an earthquake occurs in the building.
