EFEKTIVITAS SIMULASI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEPATUHAN HAND HYGIENE PERAWAT (STUDI KASUS DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH UNIT II GAMPING YOGYAKARTA)

Baground : Hospital Associated Infection (HAIs) is the acquired when is a patient in hospital or
other health facility. Nursing staff plays an important role in low the risk with attention to
washing their hand and follow the guidelines technique low the risk associated with patient
treatment. Some literature review 30 the last years has been published to reveal the important of
hand hygiene and conduct accepted as one of the procedure in the prevention of infection in
patient and workers health care. Hand hygiene simulation is one type of exercise can improve
the knowledge of participans about the important of good hand hygiene and hand hygiene
procedure.
Method : This research is quasy eksperiment with one group pre-posttest design. The population
were all nurse workers inpatient at Arroyan, Zaitun and Wardah. Total sample 30 people.
Paired T-test is used for stastitical analysis. The result statistical show simulayion with video
and poster is effective to improving hand hygiene nurse compliance (p=0,046), while method
with role models is not effective to improving hand hygiene nurse compliance (p=1,00).
Result and Discussi : The result obtained, hand hygiene compliance Arroyan, Zaitun and
Wardah before simulation rate 60%, after simulation Arroyan (role model) increased to 90%,
Zaitun increased to 90% and Wardah increased to 80%.
Conclusion and Suggestion : Hand hygiene simulation with video and poster is effectice to
improve hand hygiene nurse compliance. Therefore it can be used to improve hand hygiene
compliance nurse medical health care.
