Abstract
Rapid economic development of a country demands for improvement in banking activies, including those of rural financing banks (BPRs), as the main driving force of the economy. This requires regulations from the government being the monetary authority holder, in order to maintain the stability and the sound operation of the banking system. This study examnincs factors influencing the collection of funds from the poeple in BPRs in Yogyalcarta, such as Sertifikat Bank Indonesia (SBI) rate, inflation, regional gross domestic product (RGDP), and labor force. Secondary data are collected for this purpose, analyzed using multiple regression analysis and classical assumption tests. The results suggest a significant influence of the overall variables such as SBI rate, inflation, regional gross domestic product, and labor force on the collection of funds from the poeple in BPRs in Yogyakarta, with the relatively high coefficient of determination, which is 0,951. Ithwever, examination of the individual has different results. The SBI rate negatively significantly influences the fund collection, in contrast to RGDP which has positive significant Mfluence; whereas inflation and labor force have no significant influence on the dependent variable. RGDP is thc most influencial factor in tch collection of fund from teh pocple, where an increase in GRDP will obviously increase the fund colection of the BPRs from the poeple inYogyakarta.
